This year, in trying to come up with a meaningful and fun gift for those closest to me, I decided to make Christmas stockings (a Vincent family tradition). After talking with my mother to get advice on how they were done, I busily set myself to work.
These stockings are made of red felt, pinked to shape, and topstitched. Then, figures, words, and characters of pieced felt are fastened to the front of the stocking, in a manner hopefully pleasing to the eye. I think they turned out well.
I had finished these stockings, and most wonderful Lisa had a surprise for me: she had made a stocking for me, without me even knowing about it! Working the hours away while I was at work, she made me a stocking of my own. So we each have a stocking now. I think they turned out excellently.
