My To Do List
There are a number of things I want to do in my life, either
because they sound fun, or just because I haven't done them (which
usually equates to the same thing, for me). This is a list of
some of them.
There are two real reasons for doing this. The first is that I
sometimes have ideas about things to do, but my memory is
dreadful, and I never remember it again. The other is that I am
often in a position where I want to do something, but can't think
of anything fun. Thus, a list that gets added to when I think of
stuff, and gets read when I want to do stuff, is potentially the
best thing ever.
One day, when Moksa is done, I'll make
a program that randomly selects things to do from this list. In
the meantime, I'll just use my eyes and my brain.
Some Really Fun Things To Do
Events
- Go and see a musical in Toronto - I've done
this before, but it was glorious fun: do it again!
- Go to see a live play in Waterloo - There's
a couple places this is possible: seek out, attend!
- Go horseback riding - lots of places around
to do it, sounds fun!
- Go to a shooting range - never been -- have
to find where one is.
- Archery - I did a bit of this in high
school, and quite liked it.
- Hot air balloon ride - Fun for the whole
family!
- Go on an elephant ride - at the Zoo,
probably
- Minimalist camping trip - Many variations
on this, lots of fun possibilities.
Places to Go
- Active Surplus - in Toronto
- Science Store on Dufferin - in Toronto
- Theatric Supply Store - there must be one
in Toronto
- Go to African Lion Safari - despite having
lived in Ontario for years, I've never been.
- Get a Tour of Castle Kilbride (after April
4th) -
- Get a Tour of the Toronto mint - see where
they make the bills
- Canadian East Coast - Apparently quite
fun.
- England - always the dream, eh?
- -
Computers
- Install Linux on my main machine - This is
a relatively short-term goal
- Contribute to Mozilla - So I can feel good
about myself. Write something really substantial.
- Finish Moksa - Right now, that involves
finishing the Mercury Java back-end.
Hobbies
- Learn to chip carve - Sounds easy and
fun!
- Learn to play the keyboard - I have a
keyboard: I should learn how to play it.
