Our Purchase

May 28, 2004: Thinking we were going to buy a house at 78 McGarry Street, we looked at this house that had just come on the market. We loved it, and decided to put an offer in.

May 28, 2004, 9:00pm: Our offer was presented to the vendor. There was a competing offer, so we only had one chance.

May 28, 2004, 9:00pm-10:45pm: Lots of anxious waiting.

May 28, 2004, 10:45pm: Our offer was accepted! Horray!

June 7, 2004: We visit the house for the second time, on the first of our 2 agreed-to visits to the house before closing.

July 29, 2004: Our third visit to the home: the second (and last) of our 2 agreed-to visits before closing.

August 5, 2004: We meet the lawyer, Victor Hussein, for the first time, and he explains the closing process, and has us sign a lot of forms. He's a great real estate lawyer -- I'd use him again in a heartbeat.

August 6, 2004: Closing day! We closed on our house on this day: everything went off without a hitch. The closing date was changed from August 20th at the request of the seller.

August 20, 2004: Our original closing date, before it was changed to August 6th.

Our Ownership

August 19, 2004: Moving day! We hired movers: Total Relocation, a great bunch of guys who did a great job moving all our heavy stuff to the new house. Also, our first night in the new house!
